Christian Shelter for the Homeless, Inc. began as a grass-roots effort when a handful of concerned people started working to make sure that less fortunate men, women, and families with children in our local community were not left without shelter and basic necessities. Today, the Shelter’s mission is regarded as one of our communities most valuable resources, remaining dedicated to serving those with spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical needs by extending God’s love in practical ways. As such, our mission relies on the kindness and generosity of thousands of private supporters to make its services successful. Our mission could not operate without those who share their time and money so that the neediest among us have a place of refuge and hope.

Since opening on December 21st, 2007, our mission has served over 900 men, women and children. The vast majority of these have been local individuals who, with a kind hand up, have been able to graduate into their own home, taking with them a new outlook on life. Further still, over 75% of our resident body consistently obtains and maintains employment, working toward their own day of graduation, while others are enrolled in training or educational programs!!
